About the role

Job summary

An experienced Senior Media Relations Specialist is sought to enhance the corporate media presence of a global company based in Copenhagen. This interim role involves shaping and executing media strategies, with a focus on corporate communications, financial messaging, and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field
  • Relevant experience in corporate communications and media relations, preferably in a global or listed company
  • Proven track record of engaging with media and journalists, including proactive pitching
  • Strong writing and editorial skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in issues management, ideally within a consumer-facing business
  • Understanding of business and sustainability agendas
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English; Danish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and craft messages, press releases, and presentations for media positioning
  • Respond to media inquiries on relevant topics
  • Build and maintain relationships with Danish and international media, journalists, and opinion leaders
  • Identify news angles and pitch stories for media coverage
  • Prepare briefs and advise executives for media engagements
  • Organize and support executive media interviews and press activities
  • Secure speaking opportunities for executives at global events
  • Manage issues and crisis situations as needed
  • Support corporate storytelling and maintain LinkedIn presence

  • Strong understanding of PR and communications landscape
  • Ability to navigate dynamic environments and prioritize tasks
  • Collaborative, structured, and reliable
  • Confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels

Education

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field

Tools

  • Familiarity with media relations tools and platforms for content creation and community management
