About the role

Job summary

An experienced Public Policy Manager is sought to join a Nordic policy team on a 24-month fixed-term contract. This role involves collaboration with various internal teams to communicate positions on policy issues and develop relevant programs that align with organizational priorities. The focus is on shaping the digital policy landscape across Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland, addressing topics such as AI, youth safety, privacy, and content regulation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on significant policy developments and sentiment in the Nordics, particularly regarding AI, youth safety, and privacy.
  • Collaborate within the Nordic policy team to foster a cooperative environment.
  • Formulate strategies to advocate for policy positions based on a thorough understanding of the organization's services and priorities.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with policymakers and stakeholders in the Nordic region.
  • Represent the organization at external policy events and speaking engagements across the Nordic countries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop coherent policy positions and regional strategies.
  • Assist in creating policy programs that advance the organization's mission in the region.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing policy strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with government officials and policy stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the Nordic political and regulatory landscape.
  • Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language (Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, or Swedish).
  • Relevant educational background in Political Science, Social Science, Law, or a related field.
  • Experience in cross-functional teams addressing complex policy issues.
  • Knowledge of technology policy issues, including AI and privacy.
  • Ability to integrate AI tools to enhance workflows and achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Ongoing development of AI skills and awareness of emerging technologies.
  • Experience prioritizing competing policy workstreams effectively.
  • Background in youth safety policy issues.
  • Experience in government or with key trade organizations is advantageous.
  • Commitment to responsible AI practices, including risk assessment and bias mitigation.
  • Willingness to travel to Nordic countries as required.
