Senior Manager, Data Governance

Job summary

The Senior Manager, Data Governance will be responsible for developing and executing a scalable governance framework to ensure effective and compliant use of data and AI within the organization. This role emphasizes integrating governance into operational processes from the outset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field; DAMA certification is a plus.
• At least 8 years of experience in data governance or management, with a proven track record in implementing governance frameworks in complex environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data governance practices, including data ownership, quality, metadata management, and lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of data platforms and technical governance concepts such as lineage and data contracts.
• Ability to translate strategic goals into operational frameworks and measurable controls.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the enterprise Data Governance framework and decision-making structure.
• Drive data ownership and stewardship across teams.
• Establish governance policies covering data quality, classification, and responsible use.
• Define and report on governance KPIs and risks to senior stakeholders.
• Lead AI governance practices, ensuring compliance and risk management.
• Define governance standards for metadata and lifecycle controls.
• Embed governance into data platforms and engineering processes.
• Lead governance operations and establish data quality frameworks.
• Promote continuous improvement and the value of governance across the organization.
