Senior Innovation Manager (Remote)

Job summary

The Senior Innovation Manager is responsible for shaping the future product pipeline by leading the structured evaluation of early-stage innovation opportunities in the life sciences and diagnostics sectors. This role focuses on driving evidence-based decision-making and ensuring that impactful ideas progress into development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biomedical, or Business/Economics (or equivalent experience)
• Extensive product innovation experience in in vitro diagnostics, medical devices, or related healthcare technology
• Proven experience in leading ideation, de-risking, and assessments of new product ideas
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, including financial modeling and scenario analysis
• Ability to manage end-to-end business case inputs and outputs with accountability for data accuracy

Responsibilities

• Lead early-stage evaluation of new product ideas across the portfolio
• Apply structured assessment frameworks to drive evidence-based decision-making
• Conduct front-end innovation activities including opportunity identification and market assessment
• Translate customer needs into actionable concepts through Voice of Customer activities
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to align early development with commercial and clinical realities
• Challenge and refine innovation ideas by identifying risks and value drivers

• Proficiency in financial modeling and business case development

Education

• Master’s degree in relevant fields; advanced degrees (PhD or MBA) are a plus

Tools

• Familiarity with IVD regulatory frameworks and lean/continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
