Job summary

This role involves developing firmware for Class II audiology devices, focusing on embedded systems and audio processing. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field
  • 4–8 years of professional firmware development experience
  • Deep hands-on experience with DSP algorithms and audio signal processing
  • Proficiency in C/C++ in embedded contexts
  • Experience with hardware debugging tools

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize firmware for embedded audio and DSP applications
  • Develop and maintain real-time signal processing pipelines
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers on PCB designs
  • Implement communication interfaces (USB, Bluetooth, etc.)
  • Write clean, well-documented firmware
  • Contribute to design reviews and risk analysis
  • Support sustaining engineering efforts and investigate firmware issues

Skills

  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M processors is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with FreeRTOS or similar real-time operating systems
  • Experience with USB and Bluetooth for embedded devices
  • Knowledge of medical device development standards is advantageous

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field

Tools

  • Proficiency with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
