Job summary

This role involves developing firmware for embedded audio and DSP applications in regulated medical devices, specifically audiology equipment. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration and validation of new designs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field
  • 4–8 years of professional firmware development experience
  • Strong experience with DSP algorithms and audio signal processing
  • Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
  • Familiarity with hardware debugging tools and ability to read schematics

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize firmware for embedded audio applications
  • Develop real-time signal processing pipelines for acoustic measurements
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers on PCB design integration
  • Implement communication interfaces such as USB and Bluetooth
  • Write clean, testable firmware and contribute to design reviews and risk analysis
  • Support sustaining engineering and investigate firmware-related field issues

Skills

  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M processors and FreeRTOS
  • Knowledge of USB device stacks and Bluetooth for embedded systems
  • Familiarity with medical device development standards

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field

Tools

  • C/C++, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG
