Senior Electrical Engineer (Energy Sector, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves driving energy solutions by engaging with medium and low voltage (MV/LV) systems, leading upgrades, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring compliance from design to implementation across various power plants globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Marine Engineering with an electrical focus.
• Significant experience with MV/LV systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, UPS, and low voltage installations.
• Practical knowledge of electrical installations in power plants or similar environments.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning in operational facilities.
• Strong initiative and ability to take ownership of projects.
• Proficient in technical documentation and compliance with standards.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office and IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for projects and operating plants, including modifications and upgrades.
• Maintain and update electrical design documentation and technical records.
• Define technical specifications for procurement of electrical equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with standards and project requirements through oversight of supplier documentation.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical guidance for operating plants.
• Conduct electrical surveys and condition assessments to ensure system reliability.
• Participate in factory and site acceptance testing in collaboration with suppliers.
• Contribute technical input to sales activities and project proposals.

Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
• Ability to manage projects from concept to on-site implementation.
• Experience with BESS, PV systems, or hybrid energy systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with COMOS plant engineering software is advantageous.

Tools

• Proficient in MS Office and general IT tools.
