About the role

Job summary

This role involves leading a data science practice focused on marketing technology and customer relationship management. The manager will be responsible for building and managing a team, advising clients on data-driven strategies, and delivering high-quality data science initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of hands-on data science experience with a blend of technical expertise and client advisory.
  • Strong background in statistical analysis, experimentation, and machine learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python and advanced SQL.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT strategies, and no-SQL databases.
  • Experience with CRM and marketing technology platforms such as Adobe, Salesforce, or Braze.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of data scientists, overseeing hiring, onboarding, and personal development.
  • Personally contribute to complex projects, designing and implementing machine learning models and experimentation frameworks.
  • Collaborate with account and strategy teams to advise clients on data science opportunities and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Lead data science initiatives from hypothesis through to model development and activation, ensuring quality and reproducibility.
  • Champion agentic AI practices and coach team members in AI-native engineering.
  • Establish guidelines and maintain a backlog of data science use cases to shape the practice.

Skills

  • Strong consulting skills, capable of managing client conversations and translating technical details into business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to identify data-driven opportunities and build maturity roadmaps.
  • Excellent people management skills, with a coaching-oriented leadership style.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and conflict resolution abilities.

Education

  • Relevant degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.

  • Proficiency in data science tools and platforms relevant to marketing technology.
