Senior Data Engineer (Marketing Technology, Copenhagen)

Job summary

This role involves leading a team of Data Engineers to enhance data capabilities for an Open Intelligence initiative. The position focuses on designing, building, and maintaining data connectors, ensuring data reliability and scalability while mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Familiarity with adtech and martech data.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with data wrangling in SQL, Python, or Scala.
• Interest in AI coding assistants and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage data extraction pipelines using AI coding tools.
• Pre-aggregate data in clean rooms using SQL when necessary.
• Fetch data through REST APIs using Python or Node.js.
• Communicate with the Product organization regarding data source changes.
• Identify and address technical debt within the data platform.
• Guide regional teams on best practices for data onboarding.
• Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to ensure data connectors function correctly.
• Design data governance and quality frameworks for connector accuracy.
• Explore new tools and technologies to enhance productivity.

Skills

• Proficiency in modern data ecosystems like Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Experience with CI/CD, version control, and testing best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, and deployment tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Team lead or project management experience is a plus.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
