Senior Data Engineer

Job summary

The role involves collaborating with product managers, architects, and other key stakeholders to maximize the value of data and drive business change. The primary focus is on building and implementing scalable data products on a global data platform.

Qualifications

• Relevant education in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Management, or Statistics
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a Software engineering role with a focus on data
• Proven experience with Databricks, ADF, Data Lake, Synapse, T/U-SQL, DAX, and SQL Server
• Experience with at least one object-oriented or functional/scripting language (Java, Scala, Python, etc.)
• DevOps and CI/CD focus
• Hands-on experience with git and coding best practices
• Unit testing experience
• Experience working with relational data sets using SQL
• Experience with data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and cubes
• Experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and datasets
• Experience working with Azure, AWS, or other cloud providers
• Designed, built, and delivered production-ready data products at an enterprise level
• Highly proficient in English with strong communication skills
• Agile mindset and experience with Scrum

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to design scalable, efficient, and stable products
• Work with product managers to deliver features that support commercial business cases and efficiencies
• Create and maintain high-quality data pipeline architecture
• Ingest large, complex data sets and automate manual processes
• Own data products and track stability and benefits
• Assist stakeholders with data-related technical challenges
• Follow best practices while pushing the limits of existing guidelines
