Job summary

The Senior CMO Manager will oversee the coordination of commercial biologics manufacturing across a global CMO network, acting as the primary contact for manufacturing operations and supply execution. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, operational leadership, and business insight to ensure compliant and reliable manufacturing throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in pharmacy, biotechnology, chemistry, biological sciences, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience managing commercial manufacturing activities at CMOs within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Strong understanding of biologics Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing.
  • Experience in GMP-regulated environments, including handling deviations, change controls, and batch release support.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional activities and serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the capability to guide Subject Matter Experts without formal management authority.
  • Strong business acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with excellent stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing activities.
  • Act as the operational integrator to ensure effective coordination of technical, quality, and supply activities.
  • Manage relationships and execution across global CMOs, ensuring production readiness and timely delivery.
  • Facilitate cross-functional activities to resolve manufacturing, supply, and quality challenges.
  • Support and coordinate Subject Matter Experts across various technical disciplines.
  • Drive process improvements and optimization initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Oversee commercial manufacturing activities, including batch release support and regulatory interactions.
  • Contribute to strategic manufacturing planning, capacity management, and CMO business cases.
