Job summary

This role involves working with laboratory animals in Translational Pharmacology, focusing on in-vivo and ex-vivo research. The position is part of an Animal Unit dedicated to high ethical standards and the 3Rs in animal care and experimentation.

Qualifications

  • Open and positive attitude with a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work independently.
  • Genuine interest in in-vivo research and commitment to the 3Rs.
  • FELASA course, EU Function AD, or equivalent qualification required.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to in vivo studies in rodents, including protocol development, planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Care for and supervise animals with a focus on a “Culture of Care.”
  • Operate indirect calorimetry equipment and feeding systems.
  • Ensure compliance with animal experimentation legislation and contribute to 3R initiatives.
  • Perform cage changing, cleaning, and administration of test substances.
  • Prepare blood sample tubes and handle blood and tissue samples.

Skills

  • Comfortable with spoken and written English.

Education

  • Relevant qualifications in animal technology or related fields.

Tools

  • Indirect calorimetry equipment, HM-2 feeding system.
