About the role

Job summary

The Sales Engineer is tasked with nurturing and expanding relationships with key clients and trade organizations, while also understanding market trends and purchase agreements. This role requires a deep understanding of operations to enhance sales effectiveness and coordinate efforts with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Proven sales experience with rotating equipment, including pumps and mechanical seals.
  • Familiarity with the oil & gas, power, paper, and chemical industries, particularly with API 610 Standard.
  • Training in sales techniques, negotiations, and business finance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project management experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Drive bookings to meet or exceed assigned goals.
  • Maintain regular communication with key customers.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans aligned with sales objectives.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer interactions, addressing concerns related to proposals, deliveries, and quality.
  • Educate customers on product features and benefits using marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with application engineers and customer service to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain organized records, including reports and quotes.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen in discussions about business decisions.
  • Perform physical activities as required, such as walking customer sites and lifting.

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in product demonstrations and business writing.
  • Ability to lead meetings and facilitate discussions.
  • Capable of conducting root cause failure analysis and communicating findings.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5-7 years of experience.
