About the role

Job summary

The Procurement Associate plays a crucial role within the Humanitarian Supplies Team, providing technical and administrative support for the DRC Census and humanitarian initiatives. This position ensures effective procurement processes and operational visibility of commodities in a high-risk environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement and supply chain management, particularly in humanitarian contexts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct market research and bid evaluations.
  • Familiarity with contract administration and quality assurance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support market research for specialized census equipment and manage Global Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
  • Collaborate with the DRC Country Office to develop procurement plans based on census work.
  • Monitor procurement transactions and implement solutions for identified bottlenecks.
  • Manage the 'Green Light to Ship' process for high-cost IT equipment.
  • Facilitate contracting of Third-Party Logistics and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain dashboards for spend analysis and vendor performance tracking.
  • Act as a liaison between the SCMU and DRC Country Office to address operational needs.

Skills

  • Proficient in data analytics and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Education

  • Relevant degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

Tools

  • Familiarity with procurement and supply chain management software and tools.
