Principal Technical Program Manager (Quantum Technology)

Job summary

This role involves leading the Quantum 1st Party Hardware Technical Program Management team, focusing on advancing quantum hardware infrastructure through cross-functional engineering projects. The position requires overseeing project execution, guiding device research and development, and collaborating with various experts to scale quantum solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of quantum hardware projects, ensuring successful collaboration with architects, scientists, and engineers.
• Create data-driven updates on program status, risks, and dependencies for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with leadership and engineering teams to maintain clear development roadmaps and align milestones.
• Facilitate effective collaboration across various disciplines including materials science and cloud hardware operations.
• Utilize customer feedback to enhance hardware and processes, particularly from pilot customers.
• Identify and mitigate risks in technology and operations while promoting continuous improvement.
• Manage external partnerships and enforce quality standards.
• Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

Qualifications

Other Requirements:

• Advanced degree (M.Sc., Ph.D.) in a relevant field or equivalent experience in quantum or cryogenic hardware programs.
• Proven experience managing large-scale, interdisciplinary hardware technology projects.
• In-depth knowledge of the hardware product development lifecycle and ability to oversee complex R&D programs.
• Proficiency in program management methodologies, including Agile and Azure DevOps.
• Strong data-driven decision-making and communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to meet security screening requirements for the role.
