Principal Technical Program Manager (Quantum)

Job summary

This role involves leading the Quantum 1st Party Hardware Technical Program Management team, focusing on advancing quantum hardware infrastructure from research to scalable systems. The Principal Technical Program Manager will orchestrate complex engineering efforts, collaborating with various stakeholders to drive execution and innovation in quantum computing.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of complex hardware development programs, ensuring clear milestones and proactive risk management.
• Define and drive program strategy and roadmaps in partnership with technical leadership.
• Facilitate collaboration among quantum physicists, engineers, and external partners to ensure alignment and clarity.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and partners, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to enhance engineering workflows.
• Drive improvements in data, quality, and yield through best practices and statistical methods.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, or related field with experience in hardware development and technical program management, or a Master's Degree with significant experience in the same areas.
• Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders.
• Technical expertise in advanced hardware or experimental systems relevant to quantum or semiconductor domains.
• Experience in technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing, including system integration and new product introduction.
• Background in leading multi-year hardware programs in deep-tech domains with end-to-end ownership.
• Familiarity with improving hardware quality and yield using data-driven methodologies.
