Principal Product Owner

Job summary

This role is responsible for leading the vision, roadmap, and backlog for production execution and maintenance in cGMP biologics manufacturing across multiple sites. The focus is on achieving functional outcomes such as lead time, yield, productivity, and right-first-time metrics while collaborating closely with Solution Architects to ensure technical designs align with established standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Product Owner in a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Strong understanding of cGMP regulations and data integrity principles.
• Experience with MES/DCS systems, particularly Syncade and PAS-X.

Responsibilities

• Own the functional product vision and multi-release roadmap for MES/DCS and maintenance execution, aligning with business goals.
• Translate operational needs into epics/features/user stories with clear acceptance criteria and prioritize the backlog using value/risk methods.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects to identify architecture enablers and ensure adherence to enterprise/reference architecture.
• Lead Agile ceremonies for multiple scrum teams and coordinate increments, releases, and cutovers across sites.
• Engage with stakeholders to drive decisions on master/recipe design and maintenance windows.
• Guide functional requirements for automated data capture and ensure implementations follow architected patterns.
• Own the backlog for shop-floor maintenance execution and coordinate closely with production.
• Define and track KPIs to drive continuous improvement and value realization.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
