About the role

Job summary

A PhD candidate is sought to advance food inspection using AI and digital technologies. The role involves field data collection, application of AI models, and statistical analysis to modernize monitoring and control of food production.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (120 ECTS) in food engineering, food science, veterinary science, epidemiology, biotechnology, biology, or a related field.
  • Background in engineering or veterinary education.
  • Skills in large language modeling for Generative/Agent AI.
  • Fluency in English is required; Danish is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct studies on computer vision and auditory systems related to farm and abattoir data.
  • Analyze barriers and effects of AI model implementation in food and feed monitoring.
  • Disseminate research findings through publications and conferences.
  • Contribute to the development of national and European surveillance reporting on zoonoses and antimicrobial resistance.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with national food surveillance data is a plus.

Education

  • A two-year master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with AI modeling tools and statistical analysis software is preferred.
