Operations Specialist

Job summary

This is a 6-month maternity cover role starting from July 1, 2026, focused on operating cargo drones within a European network and potentially globally. The position involves hands-on flight operations and supporting drone logistics.

Qualifications

• Background in engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
• Valid EU remote pilot certification (A1/A3 and A2; STS-01 / STS-02 competencies preferred).
• Hands-on experience with multirotor, VTOL, or fixed-wing UAS; BVLOS experience is a plus.
• Fluent in business English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures according to the operations manual.
• Operate drones in compliance with operational authorizations and applicable regulations.
• Maintain maintenance schedules and airworthiness records for the drone fleet.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting on drones and ground support equipment.
• Maintain accurate flight logs, maintenance logs, and incident reports.
• Support ramp-ups at new operation sites, including site assessments and documentation.

Skills

• Strong technical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to make calm, evidence-based decisions in challenging environments.
• Willingness to travel 10-30% of the time and be deployed away from home for 1-3 weeks.

Education

• Relevant technical degree or certification in a related field.

Tools

• Familiarity with drone operation and maintenance tools, as well as safety management systems.
