Operations Network Specialist (Copenhagen)

Job summary

The Operations Network Specialist plays a crucial role within the IT Operations team, focusing on the stable, secure, and efficient operation, maintenance, and development of network infrastructure and connectivity services. This includes managing LAN, WAN, wireless networks, firewalls, and load balancers across on-premise and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong networking fundamentals, particularly with Fortinet and Cisco technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies.
• Experience managing Enterprise Firewalls and Wireless Solutions (Fortinet, Cisco, Cisco Meraki).
• Practical experience with Cloud Networking (Azure VNet, AWS VPC, GCP VPC).
• Familiarity with Fortinet SD-WAN solutions.
• Fluency in one or more Nordic languages (Danish, Swedish, Norwegian) and professional English.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on simplicity.
• CCNP and/or NSE certifications or equivalent expertise.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily operation and performance of network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Conduct planned maintenance, updates, and patching of network equipment.
• Monitor network health, performance, and availability.
• Analyze network logs and traffic flows to identify and resolve issues.
• Install and configure new network hardware and services.
• Design and implement network segmentation and routing policies.
• Manage VPN solutions and secure remote access.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation for network configurations.
• Configure cloud networking resources and implement security controls.
• Participate in on-call duties for incident management outside of regular hours.

Education

• No specific degree required; experience and competencies are prioritized.

Tools

• Networking hardware and software from Fortinet and Cisco, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), and Infrastructure as Code tools.
