Qualifications

  • Current student in meteorology, climatology, environmental sciences, or a self-taught weather enthusiast with practical meteorology knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of weather concepts, including radar maps and storm tracking.
  • Familiarity with various weather applications and visualization tools.
  • Excellent English communication skills for documenting software issues.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct manual and exploratory testing of a web-based weather visualization platform.
  • Verify the accuracy of weather features and data visualizations.
  • Participate in live testing during significant weather events.
  • Identify and document bugs and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
  • Suggest enhancements based on user behavior and weather knowledge.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
  • Familiarity with QA concepts like exploratory and regression testing is advantageous.
  • Experience with bug-tracking tools is a plus.

Education

  • Relevant education in meteorology or related fields is preferred.

Tools

  • Experience with web applications and testing across multiple browsers and devices.
