Job summary

The Mechanical Engineer will engage in various mechanical design tasks for the Equipment and Automation product line, focusing on the design of mechanical components and subsystems for automated machinery to meet customer and market needs.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree or Certificate with 3+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role, preferably in manufacturing or plant industries.
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting, and creating mechanical and assembly drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and adapt to different viewpoints.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CAD models and documentation based on 3D CAD concepts, sketches, or verbal descriptions using SolidWorks.
  • Prepare and maintain bills of material from CAD assemblies, considering manufacturing feasibility and cost.
  • Create assembly and detail drawings compliant with company standards.
  • Document revisions to designs and manufacturing drawings accurately.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to specify standard and custom parts.
  • Participate in design analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support other departments and assist with manufacturing and procurement opportunities.
  • Provide assistance to customers and field service personnel regarding product-related inquiries.

Skills

Work Environment

This role is office-based within a manufacturing facility, requiring travel to customer locations. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in manufacturing areas.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing methods for cost-effective solutions.
  • Design experience with machines and mould equipment, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong logical reasoning and multitasking capabilities.
