About the role

Job summary

This role focuses on driving maritime regulatory compliance and environmental policies for a global fleet, particularly in light of evolving maritime regulations. The position is integral to the Fleet Environmental and Regulatory team, working on initiatives related to green technologies and marine ecosystems.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of maritime regulations and international regulatory frameworks.
  • Sea-going experience as a Nautical or Engine Officer is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage or contribute to projects effectively.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in analytical and problem-solving tasks, especially concerning complex topics.
  • Experience in risk assessment is beneficial.
  • Fluent communication skills in English, with public speaking capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with International, EU, and regional marine regulations and the Environmental Management System.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain fleet policies and procedures regarding regulatory matters.
  • Support mandatory reporting requirements, including fuel emissions reporting and EU-CSRD.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide advice to fleet and shore-based teams.
  • Engage with authorities to assist in certification and operational readiness.
  • Lead or participate in projects focused on marine biodiversity, environmental impacts, green fuels, and circular economy initiatives.
  • Work across business units to align environmental policies and initiatives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and assist in setting targets.

Education

  • Relevant qualifications in maritime studies or environmental management are preferred.
