Managing Counsel, Commercial (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves providing legal support for global commercial deals and partnerships, focusing on the EMEA region. The Managing Counsel will deliver innovative legal solutions while protecting the organization from risks. This is a senior individual contributor position with no managerial responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in commercial transactions, particularly enterprise-level SaaS agreements and sales contract reviews.
• Experience with partnership and channel/reseller agreements is advantageous.
• Familiarity with HR Tech industry or bespoke HR services agreements is beneficial.
• Strong commercial drafting and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of data protection laws, especially GDPR, is essential.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently while collaborating with various teams.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor for EMEA sales teams, providing support on contract negotiations and reviews.
• Assist AMER sales teams as needed to ensure consistent legal guidance.
• Draft and negotiate partnership and channel agreements.
• Collaborate with Sales and Finance to structure commercial agreements that align with business goals.
• Develop templates and resources for commercial transactions.
• Provide legal training to internal stakeholders, particularly sales teams.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification is typically required.
