Job summary

This role involves supporting research activities focused on CO₂ capture and utilization at a leading engineering institution. The laboratory technician will perform routine measurements, prepare experiments, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Qualifications

  • Relevant educational background as a laboratory technician or equivalent technical experience.
  • Strong focus on laboratory safety and good laboratory practices.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory measurements and sample analysis.
  • Prepare, assemble, and maintain experimental setups.
  • Assist researchers and students with laboratory experiments and equipment operation.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and experimental systems.
  • Maintain laboratory facilities and ensure a safe, organized environment.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of experimental methods and procedures.
  • Participate in safety activities and promote good laboratory practices.
  • Handle procurement, gas responsibility, and chemical waste management.

Skills

  • Enjoy practical, hands-on work and willingness to learn new techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Structured and organized, capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Experience with analytical instruments is an advantage.

Education

  • Relevant educational background as a laboratory technician or equivalent.

Tools

  • Familiarity with high-pressure systems and Swagelok fittings and tubing is a strong advantage.
