IT Security Operations Specialist

Job summary

This role focuses on enhancing cybersecurity within an international healthcare organization. The Security Operations Specialist will be responsible for developing and managing the Security Operations function, utilizing the Microsoft Security platform to monitor and respond to security incidents.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3+ years of experience in IT Operations, Infrastructure, Network Administration, System Administration, or IT Security.
• Proficient with Microsoft technologies, particularly in Azure environments.
• Familiarity with security monitoring, incident response, and operational security processes.
• Understanding of security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with a team.
• Genuine interest in operational cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate the Security Operations function (SOC).
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents.
• Manage and optimize Microsoft security technologies, including Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft Defender for Identity.
• Conduct security assessments and identify vulnerabilities.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term improvements.
• Collaborate with IT Operations, IT Support, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain security documentation, procedures, and policies.
• Promote security awareness and best practices across IT teams.
• Stay updated on emerging security threats, trends, and technologies.

Education
