Indirect Tax Manager (Real Estate, Copenhagen/Oslo)

Job summary

The Indirect Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing indirect tax projects and ensuring effective operations within the Group Tax team. This role focuses on optimizing VAT structures, ensuring compliance, and aligning tax strategies with long-term business objectives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Law or Finance.
• 6-8 years of experience in indirect taxes, preferably within a multinational group, Big 4, law firm, or tax authority.
• Strong expertise in VAT, particularly in real estate.
• Solid understanding of EU VAT rules and Scandinavian VAT regulations.
• Strategic and structured work approach with high professional integrity.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; proficiency in Swedish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive VAT structuring in transactions and identify cost-saving initiatives.
• Monitor and analyze VAT structures within the group to reduce overall VAT burden.
• Build relationships with local tax and finance teams for consistency across jurisdictions.
• Manage VAT controversy matters with local finance teams and external advisors.
• Participate in structuring new market entries and support initiatives across regions.
• Implement and ensure compliance with VAT group requirements in Sweden and other applicable countries.
• Train accounts payable/receivable teams on VAT handling and standardize VAT processes across the group.
• Conduct internal controls and handle VAT audits across jurisdictions.
