In-house Legal Counsel (Employment Law, Copenhagen)

Job summary

An interim In-house Legal Counsel is sought to join a Legal team in Copenhagen, Denmark, providing legal guidance across various business departments while focusing on employment law and compliance. This role is a fixed-term position covering parental leave until September 30, 2027.

Qualifications

• Cand.Jur or equivalent legal qualification recognized in Denmark.
• 2-5 years of legal experience, preferably in fintech or financial services.
• Knowledge of employment law and HR compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong vendor and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication skills for translating legal concepts into practical advice.
• Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Experience in compliance and risk management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal contact for business queries across departments.
• Support the People team with employment law and workplace policies.
• Draft, review, and amend internal policies and legal templates.
• Manage fraud and compliance escalations, providing risk mitigation advice.
• Assist with customer disputes and regulatory engagement, ensuring compliance with deadlines.

Skills

• Strong understanding of employment contracts and labor law.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Legal qualification recognized in Denmark.
