About the role

Job summary

This position focuses on enhancing patient outcomes through the analysis of healthcare data within the Nordic region. The Health Data Scientist will be responsible for creating and managing integrated healthcare datasets, ensuring high-quality data for evidence generation, and conducting analyses to inform medical decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, health informatics, public health, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience with healthcare data or real-world data in healthcare, life sciences, or public health.
  • Strong skills in data integration, management, cleaning, and transformation.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, and/or SAS.
  • Knowledge of healthcare coding systems such as ICD, SNOMED, and ATC.
  • Fluent in English; Nordic language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain integrated healthcare datasets across Nordic countries.
  • Manage end-to-end data workflows including ingestion, transformation, and documentation.
  • Conduct analyses on patient populations, treatment patterns, and healthcare utilization.
  • Produce technical documentation and visualizations to support data interpretation.
  • Explore AI-assisted approaches for data quality checks and anomaly detection.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Skills

  • Analytical and statistical experience, including descriptive and regression analysis.
  • Understanding of healthcare data privacy and governance.

Education

  • Relevant degree in a related field as mentioned in qualifications.

Tools

  • SQL, R, Python, SAS.
