Health Data Scientist (Nordics)

Job summary

This position focuses on improving patient outcomes through the analysis of healthcare data within the Nordic region. The Health Data Scientist will work on building and maintaining integrated healthcare datasets, ensuring high-quality data for evidence generation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support healthcare decision-making.

Qualifications

• Degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, health informatics, public health, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience with healthcare data, real-world data, or similar datasets in healthcare, life sciences, or public health.
• Strong skills in data integration, management, cleaning, and transformation.
• Analytical experience including descriptive, regression, and survival analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, and/or SAS.
• Knowledge of healthcare coding systems such as ICD, ICD-O-3, SNOMED, and ATC.
• Understanding of healthcare data privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Fluent in English; Nordic language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain integrated healthcare datasets across Nordic countries.
• Manage end-to-end data workflows including ingestion, transformation, and documentation.
• Ensure datasets are high quality and suitable for evidence generation through robust data cleaning processes.
• Conduct analyses on patient populations, treatment patterns, and healthcare utilization.
• Contribute to methodological design and produce clear technical documentation and reporting outputs.
• Explore AI-assisted approaches for data quality checks and anomaly detection.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, governance, and ethical standards.

Skills

• Strong analytical and statistical skills.
• Experience with AI/ML applications in healthcare data is desirable.

Education

• Relevant degree in a related field.
