Head of Field Service (Mining, Europe and Middle East)

Job summary

This role involves overseeing field services management across multiple sites, focusing on achieving operational results through effective team leadership and strategic execution. The position requires managing teams of Senior Managers and/or Managers, as well as Lead or Expert individual contributors.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead the field services business within the designated Sales Area, managing a team of Field Service Engineers or Technicians.
• Oversee the P&L for field services in the Sales Area.
• Prepare quotations for field service and related offerings for customers in the region.
• Ensure timely, safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of field service jobs.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships and enhance the field services business.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders at various levels.
• Create and maintain a reporting system for the region.
• Foster personnel development and motivation.
• Support business development for FLS Spares, Wears, Upgrade, and Rebuild in the region.

Qualifications

Behavioural Competencies

• Engineering diploma/degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role and customer interaction.
• In-depth knowledge of mining equipment and operations, particularly mills, crushers, screens, thickeners, and flotation cells; familiarity with pumps and cyclones is a plus.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel.
• Proficient in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
