Job summary

This role focuses on leading the development and implementation of global data standards within a prominent research institution, contributing to the advancement of biotechnology for the Green Transition. The position involves collaboration with various scientific teams to ensure data integrity and standardization across projects.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computer Science, Molecular Biology, or a related field with a strong computational focus, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience managing complex, cross-functional projects, preferably in informatics, software, or data science.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, ontologies, and data governance frameworks in a research or biotechnology context.
  • Proven ability to act as an internal consultant, driving the adoption of new tools and standards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of translating complex technical standards for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain global data and operational standards aligned with the organization's strategy.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to help teams understand the value of standardizing data workflows.
  • Foster the implementation of standards across research groups and external partners.
  • Lead the onboarding process for new research initiatives to ensure compliance and standardization from the outset.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and laboratory scientists to integrate standards effectively.

Skills

  • Experience in research laboratories, biofoundries, or scientific computing platforms is desirable.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and compliance standards relevant to scientific data.
  • Basic scripting or query skills (e.g., SQL, Python) for data extraction and integration.

Education

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.

Tools

  • Familiarity with data management and governance tools relevant to research and biotechnology.
