Job summary

This role involves strengthening data use and decision science in countries implementing collaborative surveillance initiatives. The consultant will work remotely, focusing on enhancing public health decision-making through effective data utilization.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in public health, epidemiology, informatics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in infectious disease epidemiology, data analytics, or a similar area.
  • Proven experience in capacity building and technical mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative data use products such as outbreak situation reports and executive dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Implement automated production pipelines for data products, ensuring comprehensive documentation and SOPs.
  • Provide technical accompaniment and capacity building, including mentorship on data use projects.
  • Train in-country teams on digital tools like DHIS2, Emergency Management System (EMS), R, and GIS for data management and analytics.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data management and visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication and training abilities.

Education

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.

Tools

  • Familiarity with DHIS2, Emergency Management System (EMS), R, R markdown, and GIS tools.
