Freelance Data Scraping Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

This is a freelance, fully remote position for a Data Scraping Engineer specializing in Python. The role involves managing data scraping workflows within a hybrid AI and human system, focusing on web extraction and processing tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields is preferred.
• Proficient in Python web scraping tools (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, etc.) and handling dynamic content.
• Experience with data cleaning, normalization, and validation, producing structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).
• Familiarity with LLMs and AI frameworks is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• English proficiency at an upper-intermediate level (B2) or higher.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end data extraction workflows from complex websites, ensuring accuracy and reliability of structured datasets.
• Utilize internal tools (Apify, OpenRouter) and custom workflows to enhance data collection and validation processes.
• Adapt scraping techniques for dynamic and interactive web sources, ensuring effective extraction from JavaScript-rendered content.
• Implement data quality standards through validation checks and systematic verification before delivery.
• Scale scraping operations for large datasets, monitoring for failures and maintaining stability against minor site changes.
