Fraud Detection Analyst

Job summary

We are seeking an analytical and inquisitive Fraud Detection Analyst to join a global Fraud & Investigations team. This role involves analyzing data to identify fraud trends and developing detection rules to mitigate fraudulent behavior, thereby protecting consumers and businesses.

Qualifications

• Experience in data analytics or a similar analytical role, through formal education or practical experience.
• Comfortable working with large datasets and interpreting complex data.
• Proficient in writing SQL queries and preparing reports.
• Motivated to learn and grow in response to new challenges.
• Prior knowledge of formulating rules against fraud is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to identify fraud trends and understand fraudulent behavior on the platform.
• Develop and implement rules to combat fraudulent activities.
• Investigate escalated cases of potential misuse of the platform.
• Collaborate with data science experts to enhance fraud detection methods.
• Work with engineering teams to improve internal tools for fraud prevention.
• Provide analytical support to other departments regarding customer behavior.
• Communicate findings and results to various stakeholders.

Education

• Degree in Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
