Forward-Deployed Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves being a hands-on engineering force within a product team, focusing on building agent-first products for various business units. The position requires rapid prototyping and shipping of features, working closely with BU engineering teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a senior engineer with a track record of shipping software to real users.
• Background in founding or co-founding a tech startup, preferably in B2B SaaS.
• Familiarity with AI-native coding practices and tools, with a pragmatic approach to coding across multiple languages.
• Experience with legacy code and the ability to navigate complex codebases.
• Direct customer interaction experience, including demoing products and iterating based on feedback.
• 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in engineering or hybrid product/engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Develop agent-first products from concept to deployment within BU codebases.
• Quickly adapt to different BU environments and produce functional software efficiently.
• Utilize agentic coding tools as a standard practice and innovate where necessary.
• Collaborate with BU customers for prototyping and iterative development.
• Ensure smooth handoff of production-ready code and documentation to BU teams.
• Identify new build opportunities while delivering current projects.
• Contribute to creating a repeatable build playbook for future projects.

Skills

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and adaptability to new codebases.
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort with ambiguity.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and customers.

Education

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in software development.

Tools

• Familiarity with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and SpecKit.
