Food Processing Specialist

Job summary

This role involves joining a newly established Food Innovation Centre to lead plant-based food trials and support customer collaborations and internal projects. The Food Processing Specialist will execute trials, analyze results, and collaborate with R&D teams to develop scalable solutions in food processing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in food processing within an industrial setting.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food science, microbiology, biotechnology, biochemical engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of food safety systems, including HACCP and GMP.
• Experience in supporting R&D projects.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report preparation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, set up, and execute experiments for internal projects and customer requests.
• Communicate with customers to understand their needs and provide technical support.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data from trials; prepare detailed reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with R&D on new product development and process optimization.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments and outcomes.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized test environment.
• Identify opportunities for process and food safety improvements.
• Provide training and guidance on processing best practices.
