Job summary

The role of Fabric Development Specialist involves developing and improving high-performance fabrics for workwear, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency. This position is based at the head office in Pårup, Denmark, and requires collaboration with international suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in the textile or fabric industry, such as in a dye house or fabric mill.
  • Strong knowledge of performance and workwear fabrics.
  • Understanding of dyeing, finishing, coating, and textile testing processes.
  • Experience in fabric sourcing and supplier management.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, at a technical and negotiation level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new fabrics in collaboration with international suppliers.
  • Define specifications and requirements for new fabrics.
  • Communicate development needs and quality issues to suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices, lead times, and technical specifications.
  • Suggest improvements to existing fabrics regarding quality and cost.
  • Order and follow up on test and sample deliveries.
  • Assess and select fabric suppliers.
  • Participate in textile and fabric fairs.

Skills

  • Detail-oriented and quality-conscious.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Strong relationship-building skills across cultures and functions.

Education

  • Relevant education in textile engineering or a related field is preferred.
