Job summary

The Engineering Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a small product team of engineers, focusing on team dynamics and individual growth. This role involves both management and active participation in product development, ensuring optimal execution and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 individuals.
  • Extensive background in Backend development (Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming).
  • Strong commitment to promoting organizational values.
  • Proven track record of delivering secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Familiarity with designing and implementing automation workflows.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and instill confidence in team members.
  • Understanding of team dynamics and a focus on diversity, equality, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 3-5 engineers, dedicating 30% of time to management tasks.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding new engineers.
  • Provide continuous feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Redesign engineering workflows to enhance efficiency using autonomous agents.
  • Develop and operationalize workflows to improve delivery outcomes.
  • Implement verification processes to ensure quality and reliability of results.

Skills

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and best practices.
  • Ability to think systemically and define clear specifications.
  • Solid knowledge of automation and AI capabilities.

Education

  • Relevant experience in engineering management and software development.

Tools

  • Familiarity with tools and practices related to automation and engineering workflows.
