Job summary

The role involves ensuring the implementation of a safety management system on-site, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety among personnel and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Health & Safety role
  • Diploma in Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work (SHWW) or equivalent
  • Preferably has a background in construction
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the MSL ISO45001 safety management system is fully implemented on-site
  • Plan for adequate safety provisions in projects
  • Verify that supervisors comply with safety statements and statutory requirements
  • Inspect plant and machinery for regulatory compliance
  • Ensure personnel are competent for their assigned tasks
  • Confirm subcontractors understand and comply with safety policies
  • Maintain a daily presence on-site and ensure adherence to safety protocols
  • Conduct weekly safety audits and toolbox talks
  • Attend various safety meetings and inspections
  • Complete method statements and risk assessments as needed
  • Promote participation in the Safety Behavioural Program
  • Log and track safety observations and near-miss reports
  • Update safety management systems and training records
  • Manage PPE orders and inventory

Skills

  • Strong understanding of safety management systems and regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams

Education

  • Diploma in Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work (SHWW) or similar qualification

Tools

  • Safety management software and tools for audits and inspections
