Development Engineer (Networking, Remote)

Job summary

This position involves the end-to-end development of high-speed optical transceivers for data center interconnects, requiring a hands-on approach and strong technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field.
• Over 3 years of experience with high-speed optical or digital communication systems.
• Practical experience in laboratory measurement, validation, and debugging of high-speed hardware.
• Knowledge of optoelectronic components and transceiver architectures.
• Basic understanding of electronics and RF principles.
• Strong ownership and project management skills.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Experience with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, MATLAB).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, adaptation, and validation of high-speed optical transceivers.
• Manage development programs from requirements definition to production release.
• Collaborate with various teams including system architects, firmware, and manufacturing.
• Conduct laboratory bring-up, debugging, and optimization of prototypes.
• Perform electrical and optical characterization according to industry standards.
• Assist in root-cause analysis and performance optimization at both component and system levels.

Skills

• Experience with optical system design or high-speed optical links is a plus.
• Familiarity with electronic or optoelectronic packaging.
• Background in PCB or electrical circuit design and EMC/EMI fundamentals.
• Knowledge of thermal solutions for high-performance hardware.

Education

• Master's degree in a relevant field; Ph.D. is a strong plus.

• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB.
