Development Director

Job summary

The Development Director is responsible for leading fundraising and partnership initiatives across Europe to ensure the financial sustainability of the organization. This role involves designing and implementing a European fundraising strategy, managing relationships with various donors and partners, and overseeing a team of senior development managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Fundraising, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising or development roles within non-profit organizations.
• Proven track record of meeting fundraising targets in international non-profit settings.
• Experience with governance frameworks and donor compliance.
• Proficient in proposal writing and donor stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the European fundraising strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
• Secure funding from various sources including foundations and institutions.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with donors and partners.
• Prepare and submit high-quality funding proposals and reports.
• Ensure effective grant management throughout the funding cycle.
• Monitor fundraising pipelines and manage donor engagement activities.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on fundraising performance.
