About the role

Job summary

The role involves providing on-site desktop support, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer systems and peripherals for users. The engineer will be responsible for installing, upgrading, and repairing hardware and software, as well as managing user accounts and ensuring compliance with warranty requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent technical knowledge of PCs and desktop hardware
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certification
  • A+ certification
  • Proficiency in Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and Apple products
  • Experience with routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and enterprise backup software

Responsibilities

  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications
  • Perform preventative maintenance and remedial repairs on computers and peripherals
  • Document and manage hardware and software inventory
  • Provide user data and application recovery support
  • Monitor and analyze incoming support requests to identify trends
  • Collaborate with other IT team members for branch builds and upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with desktop standards and guidelines

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Education

  • Associate’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience

  • Diagnostic tools for troubleshooting
