Job summary

This role involves providing on-site support for desktop systems and peripherals, ensuring optimal functionality and user satisfaction. The engineer will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hardware and software systems while documenting all activities and managing inventory.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent technical knowledge of PCs and desktop hardware
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certification
  • A+ certification
  • Proficient in Windows OS and Microsoft Office, as well as Apple products

Responsibilities

  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices
  • Perform preventative maintenance and remedial repairs on computers and peripherals
  • Customize desktop hardware to meet user specifications
  • Monitor and manage network-connected devices and escalate issues as necessary
  • Track hardware and software inventory and maintain IT records
  • Provide user data and application recovery support
  • Collaborate with IT team members on new branch builds and upgrades

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Education

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Tools

  • Diagnostic tools for troubleshooting
  • Remote-control tools
  • Enterprise Backup Software
  • Knowledge of SMS, Active Directory, and Exchange
