Data Engineer

Job summary

The role involves implementing comprehensive data solutions across hybrid technology environments, integrating on-premise systems with cloud platforms. The position is full-time and requires on-site presence.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Data Engineer in enterprise settings with solid SQL skills and understanding of data modeling principles.
• Proven experience with both on-premise and cloud environments, including integration patterns.
• Familiarity with data mesh principles and 'data as a product' concepts, with experience in domain-oriented data teams.
• Ability to interpret architectural designs and translate them into actionable implementation tasks.
• Comfortable in a T-shaped role, combining engineering tasks with stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Translate architecture and design into implementation by analyzing solution designs and creating data pipelines, models, and interfaces.
• Engineer data solutions across hybrid environments, ensuring secure and reliable data flows.
• Contribute to data products as reusable assets with clear ownership and governance in a Data Mesh/Data Product setup.
• Design and implement scalable data models and transformations optimized for performance in cloud-based environments.
• Engage with business and technical stakeholders, clearly communicating trade-offs and progress.

Skills

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms is preferred.
• Experience with event-driven or messaging/streaming platforms, particularly Kafka, is a plus.
• Familiarity with enterprise data governance practices and experience in regulated environments is advantageous.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field is typically expected.

Tools

• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling tools and cloud platforms.
