Data Center Technician

Job summary

The role involves staging, setting up, and executing hardware deployments across three sites in the Greater Copenhagen area. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and diagnostics of equipment, as well as hardware decommissioning for simple changes and refreshes, all while adhering to Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• Prior hands-on experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Valid driver's license for travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify issues and replace faulty components with minimal disruption.
• Perform quality checks post-execution to ensure proper setup according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
• Decommission hardware for simple changes following standard procedures.
• Communicate and escalate incidents to appropriate management and engineering specialists.
• Assist and guide other technicians in completing complex tasks.
• Complete required training and gain hands-on experience through observation.
• Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing information and participating in team meetings.
• Take pride in service quality and user experience, displaying accountability for data center facilities.
• Participate in on-call duties on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.

Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

• Good communication skills for reporting and escalation.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Tools

• Familiarity with IT equipment and related technology.
• Knowledge of applicable certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+) is preferred.
