About the role

Job summary

An experienced intellectual property lawyer is sought to provide legal support for content and business operations across the Nordics. This role involves close collaboration with creative, business, and legal teams, advising on intellectual property and production clearance issues for film and television productions.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as an IP lawyer in content or entertainment-related fields, such as sports, advertising, tech, gaming, production, music, theatre, broadcasting, or law firms specializing in these industries.
  • Production clearance experience in film, television, or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of IP law, media, and personality rights in the Nordics and/or the EU, including copyright, moral rights, trademarks, fair dealing, rights of publicity/privacy, defamation, and freedom of speech.
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve IP disputes and handle complex copyright transactions and chain of title reviews.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills, with a curiosity to tackle matters outside of expertise.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and judgment, especially in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Fluency in English and a Nordic language is required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage IP-related risks in content, including copyright and defamation.
  • Collaborate with business and legal affairs teams to acquire and develop IP, guiding it through production and distribution.
  • Conduct chain of title research and advise on title and production clearance.
  • Negotiate and draft agreements for various production materials.
  • Maintain close alignment with multiple internal cross-functional partners.

Education

  • A law degree with specialization in intellectual property law is preferred.

Tools
