About the role

Job summary

The role involves providing strategic leadership in procurement and supply activities for oncology products, ensuring equitable access to childhood cancer medicines globally. The position is integral to the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines (GPACCM), focusing on market-shaping initiatives and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Medical Sciences, Public Health, Business Administration, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management. A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Medicine is also acceptable with relevant experience.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 8 years in medicine supply chain management and market shaping, with project management experience in public and commercial medical sectors. Proven experience in managing partnerships with donors, governments, and agencies in global health.

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement and supply activities for oncology products, coordinating with technical, commercial, and quality assurance stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support for improving access to childhood cancer medicines through working groups and global meetings.
  • Expand pooled procurement modalities in collaboration with health procurement agencies and governments.
  • Support the design and implementation of procurement activities for GPACCM.
  • Develop long-term agreements to enhance competition and optimize pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance frameworks and contribute to market intelligence outputs.
  • Convene buyers’ forums and engage with governments and partners to align demand.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project risks and issues.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical markets and expertise in strategic procurement, supply management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Effective communication and partnership management skills.

Education

  • Master’s or equivalent in relevant fields as specified.

Tools

  • Familiarity with procurement procedures, quality management systems, and international regulations related to pharmaceutical supply.
