Job summary

An opportunity exists for an intern or thesis student to engage in a metabolic modeling project, focusing on model reconstruction, curation, or data integration and analysis to support metabolic engineering and process optimization. The project can be tailored to align with the candidate's experience and interests, with potential for additional side projects.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a field combining data science/coding and biology (e.g., computational biology, bioinformatics, bioengineering with a computational focus)
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program, available for full-time work for at least three months, and willing to be based in Copenhagen
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python programming
  • Familiarity with metabolic modeling
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with engineers and scientists
  • Preferred: prior computational biology research experience beyond coursework (e.g., internships, student assistant roles)

Responsibilities

  • Engage in metabolic modeling projects, including model reconstruction and data analysis
  • Collaborate with team members across various labs to inform engineering strategies
  • Potentially expand the project scope by integrating omics data

Skills

  • Coding in R and/or Python
  • Metabolic modeling knowledge
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education
