Commercial Sustainability Specialist

Job summary

This role focuses on integrating sustainability into commercial strategies for customers in Northern & Central Europe, working closely with sales and account teams to enhance tender responses and market positioning. The position is part of a global sustainability function that collaborates across various departments to drive sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in environmental sustainability, commercial sustainability, sustainability consulting, business development, or related fields within a complex, international organization.
• Master's degree in natural sciences, environmental engineering, environmental economics, sustainable business, or a related field.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in translating sustainability topics into business value and customer messaging.
• Familiarity with EU and UK sustainability policies and regulations relevant to Northern & Central Europe markets.
• Experience in supporting complex stakeholder processes involving sales, tenders, and cross-functional teams.
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Integrate sustainability into tenders and sales dialogues, ensuring customer-facing materials reflect sustainability leadership.
• Advise customers and sales teams on sustainability differentiators, including low-emission materials and decarbonisation strategies.
• Stay updated on sustainability policy developments and translate them into commercial guidance.
• Support tailored sustainability value propositions for high-priority customers.
• Coordinate with Group Sustainability and regional functions to ensure consistent and credible messaging.
