CMO Process Specialist

Job summary

The CMO Process Specialist plays a crucial role in optimizing production processes at Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) to ensure high product quality. This position involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to address deviations and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field
• Recent graduate or a few years of experience in a biotechnology or production-related environment
• Strong interest in production processes and operational excellence
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Monitor CMO product quality performance and drive corrective and preventive actions
• Address deviations and complaints related to CMO production
• Conduct troubleshooting on the shop floor to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions
• Support process optimization initiatives when product quality does not meet expectations
• Serve as a key liaison between internal manufacturing and external CMOs, ensuring alignment and knowledge transfer

Skills

• Hands-on problem-solving skills in a production environment
• International experience or exposure to global manufacturing environments is a plus
• Familiarity with fermentation, cultures, or biological production processes is advantageous
• Additional language skills beyond English are considered beneficial

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field

Tools

• Experience with production-related tools and methodologies in a biotechnology context is preferred.
